Famed for its beauty, this peaceful and pleasant spot is ideal place for the whole family to relax with a wide range of bars, restaurants, a marina, water parks and the three lovely town beaches. It is also near the famous Papagayo Beaches where white sand and crystalline waters lap against the rocks. The network of fine white sandy coves is a delight to visitors.

Playa Blanca, meaning "White Beach" is the southernmost town of the Spanish island of Lanzarote. It is the warmest part of Lanzarote and the newest resort on the island - approx forty minutes from the airport. The coastline around Playa Blanca is one large 9 kilometre wide bay, broken up into three smaller bays. 

The beaches in Playa Blanca are sheltered and ideal for swimming and sunbathing. All kinds of restaurants, shops and bars hug the Playa Blanca boardwalk, and the streets running parallel to it, at the edge of the old town. There are also large, exciting water parks suitable for children.

A few minutes from Playa Blanca are some of the most renowned sites on the island: Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Janubio salt flats, El Golfo (the green lagoon), Los Hervideros or the charming village of Yaiza. You can also visit the village of Las Breñas where you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of Playa Blanca with Fuerteventura Island in the distance.

From Playa Blanca you can ferry across to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. The enormous beaches at Corralejo with their white sand dunes and crystalline waters make this trip worth the effort.

Lanzarote enjoys a mild, dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C + in August.
The sea temperature varies between 17°C and 24°C at the surface. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches).

The sun shines for many hours throughout the year. This allows sun worshippers to enjoy the long white-sand beaches and clear waters. The pleasant breeze is constant and moderate almost all year, making Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination for yachting, windsurfing, kite surfing and all other kinds of outdoor sun-loving activities.
